Terms of service
Last updated .
These terms are an agreement between you and Shahab Uddin, who operates Followkite. By creating an account you accept them. If you use Followkite for a company, you accept them for that company.
The service
Followkite has two parts:
- Outreach: personal email sequences sent from mailboxes you connect (Gmail, Google Workspace or your own domain mailbox), under that mailbox provider's own rules and limits.
- Transactional email: an API for messages your application sends to its own users, delivered through Followkite sending or a provider you connect.
Acceptable use
You are responsible for every email sent from your workspace. You must follow the law where you and your recipients are, including CAN-SPAM in the United States and GDPR and PECR in the UK and EU.
Transactional email
- Send only messages a recipient's own action triggers: account verification, password resets, sign-in codes, receipts, invoices, and notices about their account or order.
- Do not send marketing, newsletters, promotions or cold email through the transactional API.
- Send only to people who are users or customers of your own product. Never use a bought, rented, shared or scraped list.
- Send only from a domain you have verified in Followkite, and say clearly who the email is from.
Outreach
- Send only from mailboxes you own or are authorised to use, and identify yourself and your business honestly.
- Contact people only where you have a lawful basis and a genuine, relevant reason, such as a business offer related to their role.
- Do not upload lists you bought, rented or scraped from websites or platforms whose terms forbid it.
- Keep the unsubscribe link Followkite adds, and never email someone again after they opt out, bounce or ask you to stop.
- Keep daily sending within the limits Followkite and your mailbox provider set.
Never allowed
- Phishing, impersonation, malware, deceptive subject lines or forged headers.
- Illegal goods or services, or content that is fraudulent, harassing or hateful.
- Trying to bypass suppression, rate limits, the automatic pauses or another workspace's data.
How we enforce it
- Followkite watches bounce and spam complaint rates. A campaign, inbox or transactional sending pauses automatically when they pass safe limits (for example 5% bounces or 0.1% complaints for transactional email).
- New workspaces have a lower daily limit for transactional email during their first week.
- We may pause sending, suspend a workspace or close an account that breaks these rules, without notice when needed to protect recipients or other customers. Report abuse to abuse@followkite.com.
Your account
- Keep your sign-in details safe; you are responsible for activity in your account. Turn on two-factor sign-in for added protection.
- You keep all rights to the content you add. You allow us to process it only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy.
Plans and payment
- Plans, prices and limits are on the pricing page. New workspaces start with a free trial.
- Paid plans renew each billing period until cancelled. If a payment fails, sending stops after a short grace period.
Availability and liability
- We work to keep Followkite available and your data safe, but the service is provided as it is, without a guarantee that it will never fail or that every email will be delivered.
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits.
Ending
You can stop using Followkite at any time and ask us to close your account at support@followkite.com. We delete your data as the privacy policy describes.
Changes
We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we tell account owners by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
